4Lasers provide air-spaced Glan-Taylor and Glan-laser type polarizers fabricated from α -BBO (UV), calcite (VIS to NIR), YVO4 (VIS to Mid-IR) birefringent crystalline material and mounted in barrel-type black anodized aluminum mount. Glan-type polarizers are constructed to transmit only extra-ordinary polarized beam, while ordinary polarized beam is deflected. These polarizers feature extremelly high extinction ratio over wide wavelength range and their common applications include polarization separation, polarization cleaning, power attenuation. Glan-Taylor polarizers are designed to be used for low and mid-power applications, while Glan-Lasers – for high-power regime due to higher damage threshold and escape window in housing for deflected ordinary polarized beam. Single MgF2 layer are applied onto Glan-type polarizer optical surfaces in order to noticeably maximize broadband transmission.
